it is simple & unpretentious, demanding little of the writer or recipient ~ a quick way to stay in touch, share art (love, hate, insights, travel, recipes, etc.), & cheap, no envelopes or front-end equipment needed ~ has a small footprint, so no need to be deeply eloquent, space constraints inspire their own kind of potent poetry ~ more economical than a letter, more tangible & personal than text or email & offers the beauty of print on paper ~ can travel great distances to arrive mysteriously at its destination, rarely a clue as to encounters had along the way ~ it has a life of its own ~ upon receipt embellish & send back out, recycle what comes your way.
